iis it safe to use hair dyes

i was wondering if anyone knew if it's safe to use hair dyes, my mom wants to buy an appointment to get my hair proffesionally done for christmas. i had heard that some dyes can make symptoms flare. http://www.thelupussite.com/public_html/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif

Personally I have found that any hair processing that does not have bleach in it, is okay for my scalp. Of course if you are itchy at the time of appointment, change the appointment time. Hey, that is a great idea of your Mum's, enjoy the new look.

Not everyone reacts to hair dyes.
Perhaps you could visit the salon and ask them to apply a skin test - a little drop of the product on the inside of your elbow. If your skin doesn't react you should be OK.
You might also like to have foils applied rather than all over colour - that way the product doesn't come into contact with your scalp.
I get foils for blonding (covers the grey hairs very well !http://www.thelupussite.com/public_html/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and haven't had any problems at all.
