taste and smell

:( hi, ive had teeth taken out and then got infected and got treated with drugs. i still had my taste and smell then and have now finished my drugs. i have had no taste for about a week or so and now my smell has gone. its so horrible, you cook a nice tea and cant taste anything. let alone smell it. i was wondering if lupus could affect this too or maybe its my teeth. has anyone had this problem. i will go to the dr tomorrow as i dont want to put up with this. any information will be great. hope everyone is having a great day. thanks, nicki :D

This problem can come and go, as your teeth were real bad, and you also had a infection in the mouth, it is very possible that is what started the chain of events. I will be interested in what your doctor has to say.

Loss of taste and smell can be caused by several things - but I doubt it has been caused by your dental treatment unless it was very complicated!

The symptoms need thoroughly investigating.

;) hi everyone. well i went to the dr yesterday. she reckons it sinus and ive got abit of a infection up my nose. i dont feel blocked up but shes put me on a nose spray and amoxicillyn. ive also doubled my pred for a few days as i thinks thats good for swelling she said. but it could take about 6 wks to come back. never mind . i will let you know how thing are going. thanks bye for now. nicki :D
