Cold Nose

Dear All,

I often find that when I am cold prior to my fingers turning red, blue and white, I get a cold slightly blue nose! :cry:

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem for it is very annoying and every breath seems to make it colder. Sometimes even when the rest of me is warm my nose is still cold. brrrr :cold:

So I was wondering if it was just me or if any of you experienced it. :coffee:

Yes, this happened to me my entire life, before I had ever even heard of Raynauds.

Hi Jodie,

I voted yes but my Raynauds is quite mild, it's worst in my hands. My nose gets very cold in the winter months but does not change colour like my hands thankfully. I can wear gloves to help my hands but not too keen on wearing a nose
cover ;) :D

Yes, My nose gets red, then whitish blue, as does my hands and my chin. I had jaw reconstruction in '87 and have wire and metal holding things together. Of course everything has healed but the metal is still there. So the slightest cold gets me with the discoloration starting where the metal is located. Having Raynaulds just gives me something useful to blame it on. Ha! Ha!

I wish there were socks for your nose. Do you think they would catch on? Sillier things have happened!

Me too...usually my fingers and toes are the worst, but the tip of my nose and sometimes my ears get cold too.

I was once doing a tour of a science facility that showed what your heat image was. My husband laughed soooo hard when on the heat scope my nose showed up about like ice. The airconditioning was high in the room. At least I had my fingers that day. My nose comonly goes ice cold and I know what you mean about the breath actually making things worse. It actually hurts to breath through your nose its so cold. I wrap a scarf around my face when the temp is in the 60's. My husband keeps telling me he is going to invent a nose warmer for me. Hmmm sounds fasionable.

I don't have Raynolds or I don't think I do as my doc hasn't said anything about it but I get a cold nose all the time

:wave: Hi all, Yes I also get the cold nose but I find that putting on vaseline helps in the very cold days,My chin also gets very cold.

I know that my nose does get cold, but it doesn't go through the color changes that my fingers and toes go through. I never really even thought about my cold nose until the first time I was admitted to the hospital and they ran the oxygen test on me. They first put the thing on my finger, but because my raynauds was flaring they couldn't get a response, then they tried my toe and the same thing no response, then they tried my nose and the same thing the test was non responsive, they finally got a count by putting it on my forehead. :D I thought that it was so weird because I have always gotten a cold nose :cold: , but I never attributed it to the raynauds. BTW, great thread :thumbs: . Curious to see how others respond.

My nose gets cold along with my feet, hands and ears. Ususally the rest of me is warm. It is worse for me in the winter months, it has started since the weather dropped last week.

I get the cold nose too, but didn't associate it with my raynauds, until I read
about it on this site. Ears too.

I have it in my nose and ears too. Anytime there is a family function and there is a lot of kissing hello, I always hear the comment "your nose is so cold!!"

The raynauds in my nose and ears came along with the raynauds in my feet and hands

I get a cold nose, it actuallly turns purply blue :lol: . Its a bother to me only because people see my face more then my hands or feet wich are also affected.
