Wondering if anyone can help, I'm 23 and have had 1 successful pregnany in 2002 and was lucky enough that it put my lupus into remission. Unfortunatley this pregnancy seems to be going the other way. My GP is reluctant to send me to my Rheumy as he would rather keep me signed off work while I can cope with the symptoms rather then start me on a drug treatment. Does anyone have any advice as I dont know for how long I can cope with how I'm feeling and the symptoms etc but on the flip side I guess medication with pregnancy is never a good thing. Any help/advice would be gratefully recieved. Thanks.

I would certainly question ANY doctor being reluctant to send a lupus patient to their rheumatologist!!

This doesn't seem right to me and I just don't understand the reasoning behind this decision.

JMHO.

Congrats on the pregnancy. Take care of yourself.

Hugs.

Hi guys, sorry I havent been around unfortunatley bad news. My baby died and unfortunatley it looks like my APS caused clotting and growth retardation and eventually the heartbeat stopped. I underwent an evauation procedure last week and unfortunatley got a blood clot on my lung which caused me further time in hospital which is why I haven't been about. I hope all goes well for any other pregnancys out there and you never know maybe sometime in the future fate will be a bit kinder to me. I'm lucky I have my 3yr old about to remind me of that.
