Hi All
Can anyone out ther help me? Going on holiday to Italy later this month and am looking for a good fake tan that I can do at home - would like a bit of colour when I get back - make me feel better. Also don't want white legs. Live in Scotland by the way!
Thanks
Lynn

Hi Lynn,
I often read the info on this site, but have never answered anyone, I suppose it will now be too late and you will have already gone on holiday.
But I have found, for a gentle tan, Johnsons moisturising cream "with a hint of tan" works wonders, I was surprised I could use it on my face, and it doesn't make my wrinkles stand out, if you want something stronger I can recommend
Vichy Self Tan Milk for the body with pure vitimin E.
Hope this helps and it is not too late, hope you enjoy your holiday.
Love,
Heather x

Hi Heather
thanks for the info - I haven't seen the Johnsons moisturising cream with a hint of tan - where do you buy it? I like the sound of not showing up the wrinkles! I will look for the Vichy one as well. Thanks - I don't go away until 23rd so plenty of time to try it and get it streak free!!

I'm in the USA but I think Coppertone is a worldwide brand, isn't it?
I like Coppertone Endless Summer in the Light/Medium tint. They make it for both body and also face, but I use the body lotion on my face as well as my body.
It goes on evenly and doesn't streak the skin or darken inside wrinkles. It is one of the only skin lotions that doesn't break me out in itchy bumps!
It takes 30 minutes to work after you put it on and it soaks in well. (Maybe that's because my skin is so dry? May not work that way for someone else!) When I put it on, I stay in only my dark underthings until it's been 30 minutes because it will stain clothing if 30 minutes have not passed since it was put on.
Once the half hour is done, I can dress without a worry of staining anything.

Hi Lynn.
Angelas's fake tan sounds good, I live in the U.K. and I haven't heard of Copperstone, but I will now look for it.
The Johnsons cream has only just come onto the market here, my daughter bought me some, it is sold in most chemists and Superdrug, anyway let us know how you get on, have a great holiday.
Love,
Heather.

Hi All
Just been to my local Lloyds chemist - they don't have the Johnson's moisturising cream but I am the second person to come in looking for it. The other lady had it on and i was told it look fan!tastic! She bought it in Boots and as you say Heather also Superdrug. I phoned my friend who works near Boots and she is going to get some for me at lunch time. Will be seeing her tomorrow so I will let you know how i get on with it. She has heard about it as well and was thinking of buying some.
Love

Just a reminder to remember that you still need to protect yourself if exposed to the sun.
I am trying to find out how false tans behave with sun block on top of them so reports would be welcomed.
Have fun :)

 Hey there,
A few weeks ago at our lupus support group meeting there was a woman with a beautiful tanned look. Since I knew she had sunlight sensitivity, I asked her how she got it, and she said she mixes her sunscreen with Loreal gel fake tan stuff (obviously not the technical name  ) or Clarins gel. I can't wait to try it!

I love Elemis Total Glow Self Tanning Cream. It works great and gives you a wonderful, natural, beautiful tan. I buy it in the US but I know it's made in England. I think their website is www.elemis.com if you want to see if it's in your area. Best of luck and have a great time on holiday!

Hi All
Many thansk for all the replies - I have a lot to go on. Bought the Johnson's moisturiser with a hint of tan (ca'nt remember the proper name for it!) it is seems to work ok. Gives a very natural tan.
Go off on Monday (23rd) to Milan for a week. I can always stay out of the sun and in the shops
Take care all

Hi
I use ROC but I am not really convinced that it gives me a natural look.
I am going to try the Johnson ( if it is available in Belgium) or the Clarins. I have heard a lot about the latter one but never really tried it. Does it contain perfume?
My eyes get really red and sore because of it.
Hugs

lotion and loreal sublime is great also! nanci B)
Hello all,
I am a self-tan addict and my two favourite products are St Tropez (the original lotion, which I find easy to apply with rubber gloves...and it lasts for about 5 days and doesn't fade too badly) and L'Oreal Sublime Bronze if I want a tan with a glow, if you see what I mean. L'Oreal is more "sparkly" than St Tropez.
Hope this helps.

Back from Milan with temps of 100F (38C) didn' t need the Johnson's. Used P20 and it worked - no reaction to the sun. The only part that had any effect was the backs of my hands which I's washed after I'd used the P20!
Got a good tan and feel good - until tomorrow when I go back to work!
Take care
Lynn
on the subject of fake tan does it wash off after going swimming (in an indoor pool)...not sure if anyone knows or not!

To mention, that in my opinion P20 is not suitable for those with serious photosensitivity concerns or sensitive skins.
It contains no UVA protection ( in the UK look for four stars on the package) and the PABA ingredient is well known for causing irritations and thus is not included in skin screens these days.
Tanning means the skin cells are being affected by the sun. Permanent changes in pigmentation, brownish patches, can also occur with lupus.
Take care

Dear All,
With regard to fake tan coming off in swimming pools - I have not noticed that mine does this (Clarins gel). Not sure about others.
With regard to sun protection - I use Ultrasun (www.ultrasun.co.uk). This needs only one application and protects against UVA and UVB rays (and is factor 20+ Ozzie scale - so 40ish here). Is great as applying sun cream when you are hot and sweaty is pants!!! You can also get it on prescription (UK) as it is so good. I also cover up as much as possible.
Hope this helps some of the previous questions!!

Hi Everyone!
Do any of these "not" have that terrible smell? I have tried a few in the past and they look good but you walk around with that terrible smell that won't go away until the fake tan starts to fade.
