Hello everyone, I was just wonderding if you guys can share any advise on these meds. I read that Cellcept is used for Kidney problems in lupus and at higher doses for Cancer patients. I read that Arava is good for lupus joint pain/Arthritis. My Rhemy has mentioned putting me on Cellcept a few times but I do not have kidney involvement. I have all the joint pain, weakness, sickness and so on........ So I would appreciate any information that you guys can share. THANKS! :D P>S How does Humira help??

My rheumy also offered me cellcept but I refused because of a history of tummy upset with other meds. He says it does work for Lupus arthritis in lower doses. I am currently on 20mg of oral methotrexate (I'm going to switch to injections as soon as I can find them!). I also started Humira last week. It works by inhibiting specific inflammation markers that cause joint inflammation. It isn't working yet, I'll let you know in 2-4 weeks how I'm doing! I have had very little side effects, just a bruise where I injected.

Wendy,
I am on a combination of methotrexate and arava. It apparently has helped my inflammation but not the progress of my scleroderma. Arava suppresses specific kind of cells that causes inflammation.
I know that one of our members in Canada was put on cellcept for her joint problems with lupus and last I heard it has made a huge difference in her life.
Take care,
Karen
