:hello: Hello everyone, well I had my second trip to the rheumatologist. I went because of a leukocytoclastic vasculitis on my legs that started back in Oct. and has ended up with scars the size of half dollars or quarters on my legs. Also, fever, tiredness, achy joints and an ANA of 1:640.
Well today I got a diagnosis - in Feb. the rheumatologist took 10 vials of blood for tests. It came back that I have Hashimoto's thyroidits (autoimmune thyroid), and Sjogren's syndrome. I have some kidney involvment ( protein in urine of 292 - normal is 1-149). He said that these (the Hashimotos and Sjogrens) could cause my ANA to be abnormal and could cause some kidney problems. He referred to it as a connective tissue disease. Well I have a diagnosis!! - he is sending me to a kidney doctor next. He also told me to never take a sulfa drug again as the vasculitis happened after I had taken Bactrim. Best wishes to everyone, I probably won't write again unless something changes, but I will check in on everyone from time to time.

Hi Becky,

I just posted this on the other thread (didn't see this one), so it's a dupe. :P

That's called Hypersensitivity Vasculitis. I think its interesting that you reacted to a sulpha drug since many Lupies are allergic to them. And yes many people with Sjogren's have an elevated ANA.

I am so glad that you are satisfied and have dxs! I hope all goes well with the kidney investigations. Sjogren's is a little different but many of the symptoms and complications are very similar to Lupus.

take care (again, hehe),
Anisah

Duplicate from me too but I just wanted to say I'm glad that you have a diagnosis :) Not glad that you have Sjogrens and Hashi's but glad that now you will get correct treatment and hopefully will be feeling a little better soon :flowers: :hugbetter:
