Hi all,

I have been doing really well over the last months however unfortunately ive flared again. It seems that no matter what Im on... (which Im on metho and cellcept,) I still flare after about 1 month after I decrease my pred down to 5 mg.

Since being on the immunosuppressants I must say that when im on the pred I feel real good, and they have had some help for fatigue and joints as before I never really felt great even on the pred. However im cycling up and down every 3 months or so.

Anyhow... my rheumy thinks I may just need to stick with pred at a higher dose than 5mg.. but the whole point of all these other meds were to get me off the darn pred... (but he responded that Im a difficult case to manage so.. it may be what is needed for me.)

Well im not pleased with that bec I am very sensitive to the pred and get very cushonoid fast and increased weight. SOOOOOOOO... Ive been thinking of getting another opinion from another rheumy... thus that is why im asking if anyone knows a good rheumy in Toronto Canada.

I want someone that treats me holistically. My present rheumy only focuses on the lupus. I want someone that is caring, listens, and treats all of me,.... depression, sleep problems, fibro ect..... Anyone out there have any names for me I would greatly appreciate it. I know its hard to find a real good doc.. but Im hopeful there is one out there.

Even if its close to Toronto area.... I would consider that as well.

Thanks for anyone that is able to reply, I really appreciate it

Hi Angela,

There are a couple of reknown researchers in Toronto named Dr. Dapha Gladman and Dr. Murray Urowitz. They have a clinic at one of the hospitals but I'm sorry I don't know more than this.

I saw Dr. Gladman when I was first having symptoms and living in Toronto about fifteen years ago. I liked her then but I don' t know if her approach is holistic or not. I only saw her a couple of times back then because I wasn't dx yet. I live in London, Ontario now.

There's one Rheumy in Toronto that I do not recommend but I don't want to type the name. Please PM me if you would like to know her name.

take care,
Anisah
