Can anyone tell me what medications would be prescribed so I know if this doctor is knowing what he is doing. Haven't been prescribed anything yet, until 1 week from today after making a list of my fevers. See my post in "symptoms" under 1st rhemo visit....review..... and read there and let me know your thoughts that are always greatly appreciated !!! Thanks in advance.

Hi, helloos! ;)
Medications are a very individualized thing. One med that most folks are prescribed, though, is plaquenil, either the brand name or the generic. Beyond that, it's very hard to say what will be prescribed. It's also possible that the doc may decide that something besides plaquenil may be a better first line drug in YOUR case.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

helloos,
Angela is right. Plaquenil is usually the first line medication because it actually can alter the disease process. Everything after that depends on where the lupus is affecting you and how your rheumy approaches those symptoms.
Just hang in there and wait to see what your rheumy does. Then do a search of this site to see what others have to say about the medications he prescribes.
Take care,
Karen

I am from rockford illininois and have Lupus with lots of arthritis and eye problems. And also circulation problems.
