Provigil or Modafini

I live in Michigan. I am seeing a doctor who is very knowledgable in Lupus. Her partner in her practice has spoke about Lupus at various colleges. She has prescribed for me Provigil (Modafinil) for exhaustion. I never hear anyone discussing this medicine. Does anyone else take this drug? How does it work? I haven't started taking it yet. I got off Prednisone after 2 years. I just went to my eye doctor and found out I have cataracts in my eyes. The doctor said it was from taking Prednisone for so long. Has this happened to anyone? She said I will not see well until I have cataract surgery. I am 57 years old.

Sorry I don't know anything about the provigil, I sure hope it helps with the fatigue tho. That's one thing I really hate is just being sooooo tired!!!!! Along with everything else!
Perhaps someone will come along that knows about your meds soon, if not, then post again. Hope the cataract surgery goes well and you heal quickly!!!!

Hi,
I take provigil and have found it to help quite a bit, of course it is not a miracle cure...there are days that even with the provigil I am still to sick and feel awful. But it does help me with fatigue. I take half a tablet. I hope this helps. Brenda :wave:
