This probably refers to a type of antigen, a substance that triggers an immune response.

I suppose you are being checked out for autoimmune rheumatic type disease ?

Like any other test results, its significance depends on numerous other factors which all have to be taken into account to reach a diagnosis and get the right treatment

It's best if doctors explain what they are doing so you are part of the process and can dialogue with them. Often they need 'encouragement' and it can take some effort.
Ask them to repeat any terms or phrases and make a written note of them.
