urine therapy?

i've read in sereval alternative medicine publications that drinking ones own urine helps with chronic conditions such as lupus.

anyone do any research on/tried this?

I have researched it yes but wouldn't dream of trying it, well, I suppose because it runs counter to my belief system and thought processes, apart from the major yuck factor

Hello,

I have heard about the urine stuff but I don't belive it at all. Here we had a man that was a yoga practicioner ( or so he said) but they found him to make porn stuff and many other bad things all in the name of yoga and yes they practiced that urine drinking too.
This was supposed to be an all purposes med..... have i heard that before....
Doctors here said that they have analized urine and that it doesn't do any major change because it may contain some good stuff but also bad things .... not to forget what urine is..... the good stuff can also be taken from supplements which are more pleasent too.
That is just my opinion. I have nothing against yoga and i think some forms are very good but what this man did was not yoga at all.

:sick: Yuk, It's bad enough taking the tablets everyday,but I can honestly say the thought of this has put me off eating and drinking,so in a crazy kind of way has helped me by loosing weight,The thought of drinking your urine is pretty Gross and It's one thing I won't be trying however bad my lupus gets. :huh: Deborah

DO not try that, the yuck factor is there and sometimes we carry yeast and other microorganisims in our urine. There was a episode on CSI, using that for staying young. It was agreat story line. It won't help. Try more healthy alternatives maybe vitmens and natuaral foods. Good Luck Charlett

I did see this on CSI, lol. Honestly...if I found proof or truly believed that this would work I would do it in a heartbeat. It is kinda gross...but considering how terrified I am looking at taking these methotrexate pills...I don't blame anyone for desperation.
Let us know what you find out...do...?

:wave: Hi Nicole7,Don't be scared of methotrexate it is a good drug, I was also scared when first on it because of what it is and the side effects, but I think it really has helped me, the only thing I don't like about it is not allowed any alcohol at all.Not even a glass of wine at special occasions(and your not allowed Urine either!Joking Gadz,Yukes)Deborah :sick:

Thanks Deborah for your response here. I didn't mean to change the topic...oops. Anyway...I'm glad to hear that you have had a positive outcome with the metho. I"m just a worrier...always have been. Although I don't drink too often I am suddenly worried about not being able to drink again. I feel like I should drink as much as possible in the next week or so leading up to my dr. opinion...well... better get started. cheers ;)
