Got $500 for having lupus for college

Hi everyone :wave: I am Karisa 30 SLE,(rooney75) I am from Kentucky, USA and am going to Nursing school at Western Kentucky Unvi :nurse: I recieve about $1700 a year from a program called Vocational Rehab for having Lupus. Thru this office and the State they ask 200 people to write a 600 word essay for $500 for your choice of Unvi. The theme was Kentucky "unbrible spirit" our state mott and how with the assitance of the State and Voc Rehab how I will achive my goals. I told of my battle with Lupus and how it changed my life and outlook on life, that with perservance and faith I can over come any battle. I found out today that I had received the $500 for school and get to go to the Capitol and receive the award from our Governor. COOL Huh!! B)
I thought maybe ya'll would like to know. Thanks to everyone who have been so nice and supportive to me and us all. :love:

Congrats!!!!!!! It is wonderful that your state has such a program to offer! You will find :nurse: to be a VERY rewarding career. Yes, there will be times you are ready to pull out your hair, but take a deep breath and go on. I love my job as a :nurse: and all the doors it has opened for me. I love the people I meet an take care of.
