Thanks to all of you who have been soooo supportive. In the morning, Doug is going to accept a mutual separation package from the company....10 weeks pay, 6 months free insurance, no constesting his unemployment. The other option was basically to stay on with the company and have his life made a living ****, while cutting his pay and career position drastically. It's ridiculous. I'm backing him to opt out because the stress is killing us both. Love you all and wanted you to know what's going on. Tonight I put him to bed with chest pains and xanax...all over some LATE paperwork! Good grief!
Love,

I'm sure sorry about this whole situation. From what you say it doesn't seem to me like he will have a hard time finding a new job. And I'll bet it will be better than this last one. I'm glad he's resting now. It might help his mindset to start getting his resume prepared and begin looking for openings in his field.
I know this is a difficult and stressfull time. From my experience when bad things happen to good people they always end up in a better place.
I thinking about you both and sending loving hugs.

I'm still stunned, Karen. I'm wondering if the company was looking for a reason to let him go--like he was there long enough to be too highly paid. My employer worked that way. At the first hint I was having health problems she found a way to make my life a living h*ll.
My ex-husband had one of his district managers tell him he didn't like the way my husband looked, talked, dressed, or even walked, and he was going to make his life miserable until he quit. That's all it was. A personal dislike. (My husband outlasted him!)
But that doesn't make you feel any better. I'm sorry you have to go through all of this. It definitely isn't fair. If it were me that would be one of the hardest things to come to terms with. :flowers:
I hope you get through this without too much stress. Please keep us updated! :flowers: :flowers:
You'll be in my prayers.
