Hi Guys,

I'm quite new to this site and find it very useful. A friend of mine who heard that I had been diagnosed with Lupus decided to do some research on the internet about it and came independently on this site. After discovering that she shows many symptoms of Lupus (fatique / kidneys / mouth ulsers / etc., etc) she is going to get herself checked out for Lupus (as much as this is impossible in this country)

I came across a GREAT thread which I found very very useful but I cannot now findit in the fora, perhaps youi can help. It was something like "If you could only say one or two things to someone without lupus, what would you say?"

Once again, a fabulous topic - if only I could find it and post to my friend.

I enjoy reading all your posts and it is good in a way to know I am neither nuts or alone.

P :luck:

Maybe this one Paul

http://www.thelupussite.com/forum/index.ph...ST&f=14&t=17485 (http://www.thelupussite.com/forum/index.php?&act=ST&f=14&t=17485)

I'm glad you're finding the site helpful.

I hope your friend gets some answers even if she doesn't have lupus.
I was on an outing once, when picnic lunchtime came I asked that we sit in the shade and explained why to someone who asked. A few months later she came rushing up to me to say she had passed on what I had told her about lupus skin and general lupus symptoms to a colleague of her husband's who'd been feeling ill for months and visited several doctors with no luck.

She got a referral to one of the rheumatologists I had mentioned and was almost at once diagnosed with lupus. None of the others had remarked on her prominent butterfly rash.

All the best

Clare

Thanks for that Clare - That was the one I was looking for. Since discovering this site, it becomes more and more apparent that doctors need more training and awareness of lupus.

Paul :woohoo:
