Hello  ,
I haven't posted in a while, but today I really feel a need to just "talk" to someone who can understand my fears  . This last weekend I was bitten by what I thought was a mosquito. I started getting what I thought was my usual reaction but then as the days passed I noticed it was different. I saw the ER doctor this weekend. It was a tick bite apparently and I got a bull's eye erythema type of reaction. I couldn't believe it when he mentioned the tick was a carrier of Lyme's disease. What more do I need? He started me on the usual antibiotic for treatment and I will follow up with rheumy tomorrow when his office is open. There's no guarantee that this will develop into Lyme's but I have already had one equivically positive test for it and at that time I couldn't ever remember any kind of bite. Now I definitely have a tick bite by a tick infected with Lyme's Disease. :afraid: If you read up on Lyme's you see how much it crosses over with the symptoms of Lupus. It will be hard waiting until tomorrow to hopefully get some feedback from my rheumy. I am so glad you are all here  and so helpful. My family knows I am afraid, but then they can't really understand my fears. It just helps me feel better today knowing I can "talk" to people who will encourage me. Thanks for listening.

I am very sorry you have this new anxiety. :hugbetter:

I got bitten by a tick and turned out several months later to have a very high titre of the Burgdorfer borrelliosis, what, antibodies I suppose. I had assumed my undue sweating, fatigue and general out of sorts were menopausal.

After daily IV antibiotic, 12 X I think, I was just fine. I hope all will turn out well for you too
Best of Luck - let us know

 Thank you Lily and Clare  ,
You can't imagine how encouraging it is to hear from you and to know you understand. My boss today told me she didn't want to stand too near me since I always had bad luck. That didn't help much! I think my husband is tired of me always getting sick and of course, the bills mount up. Each new thing seems to mean more trips to the doctors and more medicine. I know you all know what I am talking about and that is what makes this place so fantastic. I have to admit I am anxious to talk to my rheumy tomorrow and see what he has to say. I am going to do some reading tonight on Lymes and be prepared with some good questions for tomorrow. Thanks again. :flowers: :flowers:

((((hugs)))) When it rains, it pours uh?

Just a thought... you might want to make sure that your technis (spe?) shot is up to date. My husband suggested this when I had an odd tick bite. So, I updated my shot and the doctor started me on antibotics just to make sure nothing else was added to my lists of problems.

Take care,

J

Thanks for the suggestion :hello: . I will call and see when I last had one. I think mine is still up to date. I hope you have a good day today.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that when my daughter was bitten by a tick and then started to develop body aches and fevers, she was given antibiotics and has had no more problems. Treatment is getting more effective than it used to be.

I hope your luck is just as good as hers. :hugbetter: :luck: :flowers:
