Hi there, Last week I wrote a message asking for help in finding travel insurance. Like me everyone who replyed had had the same difficulty and had been refused full cover because of their Lupus. Basic cover could be found but it excluded any symptoms which could be associated with Lupus, which in real terms could be anything!
Anyway, GOOD NEWS. I found a company willing to insure me, how great is that. I am so relieved as I am flying out to Africa soon to work in an orphanage for bind, deaf and Albino children.
The company is an adventure high risk sports insurance company. They usually insure people wanting to jump off mountains or swim with sharks covered in raw steak, sort of thing. They seem happy to insure a 'Lupin' as long as your condition is stable and has been controlled succefully with drugs for a while. They asked me what drugs I was on, so I gave them my huge list and they asked if I was awaiting and treatment which I'm not and also if I'd been admitted into hospital in last 6 months which I haven't. I have been on the same medication for several years now so I don't know if that helped too? And if that wasnt enough, its pretty cheap too. Its only cost me ?55.00 for the 5 weeks I'm away. Thats including cancellation and evacution cover back to UK if needed. How great is that. Only thing I didn't get covered is baggage which is covered by my contents insurance. I am so relieved. I work in a mountaineering centre and it was one of the instructors who suggested these people yesterday. Aparently the centre has been using this company for years and although they a little more expensive for ski trips and things, they service is great. So that sounds good enough recommendation for me.

Sorry for rambling on, I'm just so happy. Thanks for listening folks. xxxxx

Great news. I had checked at work to see what company they use to Insure people they are sending to other sometimes remote locations and found out they use Cigna International Health for the insurance. They seem to have good luck with it.
