First of all I want to say nice to meet all of you!!!! :shake: :shake: :shake:
But Ihave a question on US labor laws I just got of hospital after having SLE attack my sympathetic nervous system and my boss wants me to come while I am still on doctors orders for bedrest and train my replacement - he has never said I was fired but it sure sounds that way if I am trainingmy replacement. What should I do. :faint:

Chelle,

Call the labor board in your state. If it is a really small company the rules are sometimes different. If there are at least 25 employes ( i could be wrong on the number) you can claim FMLA and be off up to 12 or 13 weeks per year and not lose your job. But you need to say that you are using your FMLA.

And no no-one can force you to do anything contrary to your doctors orders. So going in to train someone could be harmful to your health.

When I lived in the states I had a similar situation and I gave in and went in to help. I really did the wrong thing both for my health and then later when I sued. Stay home, document everything and call an attorney.
