But Ihave a question on US labor laws I just got of hospital after having SLE attack my sympathetic nervous system and my boss wants me to come while I am still on doctors orders for bedrest and train my replacement - he has never said I was fired but it sure sounds that way if I am trainingmy replacement. What should I do. :faint:

Have you reviewed the site (above, top of page when you click into the SS thread) pinned by Raggedyann, Job Accomodations for work in the USA. That site gives good suggestions and also provides a link to the US Dept of Labor at the bottom of the page.
There are also other useful links provided in that section of this topic.
Keep asking questions. We are here to help you if we can!
Hugs.

are you out of work on any kind of disability? Are you getting paid by your employeer? Do you plan on going back to work? What state are you from? how many employess do they have? How long have you worked there? Are you salaried? Are you using up sick time? Did you inform your employer that you were not coming back? Is your emplyer paying for your health insurance? If so do you have anybody else under your policy? Do you have short term and/or long term disability? What country are you from? What have you been DX'd with?
Sorry FOR all the questions but the answer to your question really depends on the answer to these questions and I know that I am leaving stuff out.
Ask away. We were all new at this stuff one time or another. Plus I am still learning.
Read all you can. Hope you feel better soon.

I guess I thought "bedrest" meant resting in bed. Do they have a bed for you at work? (Just my literal brain at work.) I don't see how your employer can argue with that as long as you have a doc's note.
But I'd also do research, like that mentioned above, to CYA. It might be enlightening to your employer, too.
I hope you do and feel better soon! :nurse: :flowers:
