The best doctor to get in Albuqerque is Dr. William Sibbitt and UNM. There are also other rheumatologists there that a good. Lovelace also has one...Dr. Kuman. She was schooled at UNM.

You may also want to contact the local LFA chapter at 881-9081 if you want to hear their recommendations or if you're in a different city.

Good luck!

Hi Drea

I would ditto that on Dr. Sibbett, but he is very difficult to get into see (he is supposed to be my doctor, but I always seem to get an associate).

My pain doc thinks very highly of Dr. Eric Carlson but he is with Presbyterian and they no longer take Blue Cross which takes him off my list.

Personally, I think Dr. Pacheco is highly knowledgeable about lupus and related diseases. He was the first rheumy I saw and I had a fit because he didn't think I would recover from my radial nerve palsy (I hope that's okay to say here) so I left his practice. In retrospect I wish I had stayed with him. Hindsight is 20/20.

I hope you find a good fit. There don't seem to be many here in NM who are really good lupus docs.

Hugs.
