Hi everyone,

I am waiting for important blood tests to come back from rheumy's office. I know they were doing the normal tests I get all the time to check progression of lupus (ana, sed rate, etc). The blood glucose tests they did are more important to me right now, though. (Rheumy is trying to distinguish between diabetes and Sjogrens.)

This office is not very good about calling me back with results, good or bad. (Though they do seem a little better about doing it if they are bad LOL.) I am planning to call them after a decent amount of time because I just don't trust them to follow through promptly on their own. (Too many patients, I guess.) Any idea how long I should wait before calling?

Thanks Songbird

I usually get my results back within a week, unless there's something unusual.

Good luck with the office! :luck:

Hi TeriJ,

I've been off the boards so long-having been feeling so bad myself, I did not realise you were being checked for Sjoogren's/Diabetes. Hugs to you sweets! LOL! I just got my Sjogren's dx, ummmm 2 months ago I think? Duh.
Although all my SSA, SSB and anti RO were negative I was given the dx by my rheumy anyway as my ENT told him I had 2ndary SJS.
I am sorry you are going through this Teri. I would give the office a call 7 days after labs were done, if they don't have an answer yet-follow daily until they do. That way they won't forget it is important to you. Making a small nusiance of yourself can sometimes help in the game we must play to get answers.

Hugs,

Michelle :flowers:

If the tests you are having run are basic tests and i think they were (trying to remember your post) they should have them that day and then give a day or two to be faxed to your doc. I always look up my own labs...but I work at the hospital so.....Another thing to remember if you deal with a smaller hospital, then some tests have to be sent out and then that usually takes a week. My advise call after 4 days and if nothing back, keep calling daily. Remember, it is YOUR health information and YOU have a RIGHT to know.
