I just had an ana drawn and it came back at 2560, I had it drawn due to new joint pain. I am waiting to get into rheumotologist. Was everyone elses this high?

Avril my titers have been that high, but are now down to 1: 1280, this is on good days. they tend to fluctuate with lupus.

Take care both. Jude :flowers:

Welcome Avril :flowers:

That titre is high enough to be very significant for an SLE diagnosis. Although ANA is not specific for lupus it's said the higher the titre the more likely it is lupus related.

That's assuming there are other relevant symptoms and findings. I am sure that further tests will be done to see if there are other significant auto antibodies.

I know that some people have had ANA titres that high but anything above 160 or sometimes 320 is usually considered as significantly positive.
Good Luck

Clare

Avril,

I split your post off of the old one so that more people will take the time to look at yours.

As Clare said that ana is definitely significant. And most rheumatologists would say that there is definitely some rheumatological disease present. Sometimes the higher ana's are more often found in Sjogrens which is a sister disease to lupus. But I have also seem members here with teh 1:2560 ana with a lupus dx.

Let us know how things go.
