I'm just being investigated and it may be that they come up with Lupus for me. At the moment I have a very attentive team at Bart's and they have said that they will send me for a second opinion to a Rheumy. I do wonder which Rheumy that will be and I see SO much here about St Thomas's that I wonder if I should ask if I could be referred there.
Also I am told that I will need a Neurologist and wonder if anyone can recommend one of those in either London, or I live in West Sussex so somewhere around there would be good.
Thanks

 Hi Owlet,
I used to be a patient at St Thomas's and it's a pretty safe bet that they have the most advanced information about connective tissue disorders and APS. I think it may well be worth your while being referred there if it is lupus/APS you are having problems with. As for a neurologist I only saw mine at Hastings in East Sussex I didn't see one at London, sorry I can't help you more, all the best, Lucy :flowers:

Hi Lucy :hello:
Thanks for coming to my rescue. It seems they have a Rheummy in mind but if I get stuck or don't like this one then I do know where to go ;)
I think the Neuro Docs do travel around so could you PM me with your one. It's good to have at least one name and I'm waiting for my GP to come back from holiday on Monday to get our local one from her. I'm not sure why they don't want me to see the one at Barts but never mind. For now I'll just go along with whatever they say is best - seeing as I don't know too much better atm. LOL
Take care

I don't know about other London lupus specialist hospitals but I have been extremely impressed by St Thomas's.
I am sure they will refer to specialists as necessary and also the lupus team will supervise all treatments as they have the overview of your case.
I would be leery of any sort of specialist who wasn't 'up' on lupus. From all I have read it is essential that any specialist works closely as part of a team.
Cheers
