Hello all

I'm going to see a Chiropractor next week and am a bit nervous as I suffer a lot of all over body pain and some therapies make me feel a lot worse. Apparently my body is pretty badly out of line so I'm hoping it may ease some things. This is a special gentle form of the treatment so shouldn't be too violent I hope.

Anyhow, I'm just wondering if anyone has some positive feedback from their own experiences. My therapist has told me that she has treated many people with my problems and that some improve, some stay the same and some feel worse - I'm always grateful with a therapist who is this honest - I'm just hoping that this time it'll be a therapy that helps not hinders.

Thanks for reading or replying

I had never been to a chiropractor until a couple of weeks ago. My left arm has been hurting and falling asleep plus pain and stiffness in my neck and shoulders. I decided to try a chiropractor. I was nervous like you but it wasn't bad at all. There was the snap...crackle...and pop but afterwards I got immediate relief. The thing I'm discovering is that you have to keep going back because it doesn't last. At least that's what's happening with me. I'm becoming addicted to going because it's like a miracle. Pain...then no pain. He did an x-ray and discovered a pinched nerve between my C5 and C6 disc. He has gotten rid of a lot of my pain. I'm now wondering why I didn't go sooner.
Only time will tell if this is something that will last or I will want to continue. For now...he's my new best friend. Joyce

I'll be going to one starting in october, ive been following my fiance to his for the past 2 months. The chiropractor there has had quite a few lupus patients and he says that some do get relief from it. It helps release tension on nervs between the bones and that can ease the pain as well so im hoping it will work. Just didnt want any miricles before i get tested.

Ive also have had chiropraction in the past and it felt great. Walking in there for the first time in a long time made me start drooling and craving to get my back put back in allignment

Hi,

I am not currently seeing a chiropractor but have been giving thought to seeing one again. I have always found relief when i go. Usually after a couple of months I am able to start having longer periods of time between visits. First I am going to use the 2 massage therapy appointments that my husband has bought for me as i always have some relief afterwards.

Good luck,
Karen

Hi,
I go to a chiropractor. At the first visit we went in his office and I told him what was wrong with me and all the meds. that I was on. After that I got adjusted. I get relief from going to him.
Plus my daughter-in-law is a chiropractor and my son will graduate in Nov. and be a chiropractor.
I have learned to be relaxed when you are getting adjusted.
Take care,
Keebler

Dear everybody

Thanks loads for sharing your experiences. I feel much better about giving it a go now. I'm trying not to get too hopeful for fear of another disappointment, but even knowing which parts of me are crooked has helped me understand aspects of my pain, so I've gained something already :)

Thanks again and good luck with your treatments

Well myexpierence with the chiropractor has been more positive thannot theni first went to him with back pain that was so bad that could not breathe. he helped that alot an as time went on I had more pains everywhere thatn i could count. I did not know either that I had Lupus. Now since i Have found out that is what i have he is alittle easier on my body but still cracks the neck and lower back. It is not so bad at all andafterward for the most part I feel much better. I would say go foritand do not worry it really is no biggy when thye crack it or whatever thye do for you. I just love my chiropractor. Not really litterally lol. Good Luck anyway.

Hi again

Thanks for the messages and encouragement. I had my first session last week and felt good about the practitioner who is very gentle and considerate. I am in a bit of a flare now, but I'm used to that when trying a new therapy. I will give it 6 sessions and if I stay in a constant flare during that time then it may not be the therapy for me. My shoulders felt a little less wired tight for a few hours and my sinuses were trying to clear so I know there was some benfit, but I think my body is a bit upset.

I'm not disappointed as I knew it was unlikely that I'd suddenly feel good after a treatment. Just keeping my fingers crossed for the next session.

Hey i just want to say a caution to getting a massage, or whatever .. because when i got a massage once it was great but i felt so sick afterwards and i think it was because of the heating lamp that they put on me. That?s my guess anyways so just a caution too look out for
