Hello everyone
I'm new to the board. The only reason I even know I have lupus is because my daughter was born with neonatal lupus. She was born in April. During the summer months, she got a horrible rash on her face, eyes and head. We went to a dermatologist who also thought lupus or a horrible disease called dermatomyositis. She had blood done which confirmed lupus. There is only a small, small risk of having an infant with NLE. She can only have lupus if I have lupus. So I just had blood work done last week. The results are in and it's lupus for me.
My symptoms are so mild that I would not have been tested for lupus. Heck, I didn't even think I had lupus. Just strange, infrequent symptoms. Joint pain that put me in bed for several days twice in the past year, occasional skin rashes on my body (I thought that it was eczema) and new Raynaud's that started last year. Of course with the blood tests it all makes sense. Without my daughter having this rash though, I wouldn't know at all.
Blessings come in strange packages sometimes. None of my other children had this rash and they are healthy. My 4th girl should spontaneously recover by 9 months once my cells that are in her die off.
Cheers
