Hello Everyone,
So, he was born at 37 weeks and 5 days....
5 pounds 4 ounces
17 1/2 inches long
He was born with a critically low blood sugar and on the small side, but dong well so far. He has seen the pediatric eye doc and pediatrician already since his birth and is doing fine. We were concerned about his vision and hearing since I was on pred and hydroxychloroquine throughout the whole pregnancy. He isn't blind and his hearing is fine. We will check his vision in 3 months.
My placenta had calcifications at 36 weeks and the baby had failed the non stress test and biophysical profile test. He however passed the oxytocin challenge test, which overrode the other tests. My High Risk Ob Doc said the calcifications on the placenta were normal and just meant my baby was close to due date.
I was curious if lupus had anything to do with his petite munchkin size. Regular Ob didn't think so, but pediatrician thought it could be from the lupus. It's really hard to say.
I'm doing okay, aside from the normal post partum symptoms. I'm still in recovery and adjusting. I just wanted to give you an update and wish all the new mommys a wonderful journey (Cookie and Songbird).
I have to admit, this high risk lupus pregnancy has been trully an amazing experience. It has been a worrying process, a risky one, too, but a blessed journey. I am just hoping the lupus doesn't go nuts.
Take Care Everyone,
