Hi Pearless, I have just read your reply about your daughter having the knee pains so much so that they wake her up. I have just started down the ( I feel long!!!) process of trying to get to teh bottom of my sons painful knees. He is 4 years old and been having these since he was 18 months, took a turn for teh worse in my opinion just the last few months when he was also experiecing them during the day and unable to bear weight. Both knees particularly teh left. His ankle has started to be unable to bear weight, but without any pain?! We have had a bone scan, which theDr said probably JRA and it was also found that his platelet count was high.
My sister was diagnosed with SLE 35 years ago at teh age of 5, which the Dr knows and yet I have been offered no further medical advise or intervention. Basically told to go home and that was that. I live abroad ( south Korea) and am struggling with Dr's who don't speak my language and I don't speak enough of theres! I am in touch with BUPA who are searching for an alternative hospital for a 2nd opinion.
I guess my question to you is, does any of this sound similar to your situation?? I know it is more rare for boys to have lupus than girls but your message struck a cord with me.
Thanks for geting this far ( if you have! :P ) and look forward to yours or anyones opinion/thoughts
TIA Lennyd
