Hi friends...

Well, it's definately not our year in Louisiana. Our city escaped damage in Katrina, but will probably not be nearly as lucky for Rita. They are telling us here to expect 65 MPH winds, flooding and at least three-day power outage. We have stocked up on water, food, flashlights, candles, etc...something we are becoming accustomed to :( We are 150 miles inland, but unfortunately we are on the east quadrant of the storm, so that is not good. We will probably lose power, so I may be out of touch a few days...will check in ASAP! Take care all....talk to you soon!!!!

Love,
Karen

Hi, Karen! ;)
I have adult children in Texas and they are hunkering down for the storm, too. One of them called me yesterday to ask where to get sandbags. I'm glad they're looking ahead, and glad that you're looking ahead and getting prepared, too.
Best regards,
Angela :flowers:

Hi All!!! We made it!!!! A miserable few days, but nothing major....lots of wind and no electricity or water since the storm hit. But, God, those people in the parishes just below us are completely devastated!! Our Louisiana is not going to be the Louisiana I grew up in...ever again! :( It really makes me sad. Even the coastline is changing...the map of our state will be different...weird, huh? And the people....oh, my god, the people....there are soooo many evacuees in our community..first from Katrina...now from Rita...Many have lost eeverything. Please keep Louisiana and its people (and Texas as well) in your thoughts. Thanks everyone for your encouraging words and for thinking about me and my family. :)
