alright i am 15 and i have always said i wanted a big family wen i am older, i want 5 kids .. n wen i found out i had lupus my dad started tellin me i cant have kids because i have lupus and in the pamplets my doctors gave me they said i cud have kids and i showd him it n he still says i cant have kids that because of my lupus i can not have kids !!! he keeps tellin me that i will have to adopt.. but no offense but i dont want to adopt, i want to have my own children ... please write me bak ur opinions on my situation ..

many of us with lupus have children - I do ! And some of us even have 5 kids (I don't, but I know there are some on this site have larger families).

During pregnancy a person with lupus needs to be watched closely but, unless there is some specific reason why you can't have children , then it is quite likely that you can.

It used to be said that people with lupus shouldn't have children, but those days are long gone and most of us can, with the proper treatment.

The best thing to do is to ask one of your doctors about this, as they will know the specifics of your case
