This was sent to me by a friend. Does anyone know anything about this?

Colostrum also contains PRP (Polyproline-Rich-Peptides), shown in medical studies to help boost an underactive immune system. PRP helps restore the thymus gland to optimal functioning capability. The thymus produces the vital T-cells which fight viruses and antigens. The PRP found in colostrum also helps balance the overactive immune system present in autoimmune diseases ? conditions in which the body actually attacks itself. This makes colostrum extremely effective with illnesses such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and Scleraderma.

Started to answer this before and stopped to look and see what i could find on it.
My first thought as I read it was that it sounds "To good to be true"
a fast search rurned up several things on it.
Colostrum is a item found in Mothers Milk that is needed by the baby in the first few days of life. For one thing it works as a laxitive to give the baby a start on the normal body functions that he needs to start at this time.

These companies have extracted the chemical from cows milk and are selling it to people as a health aid.
It is not tested, not regulated and can make about any claim it wants to make in order to sell it to you.

If this works then no one who owns a cow and drinks the fresh milk should ever have Lupus or much of any other health problems either as far as that goes.

Do a fast search on Lupus and you will find a 100 companies just like them that all have some miracle cure to help the world get better.
I have seen these same claims from weeds that places processed and wanted to sell you, algae that they collected from who knows where and wanted to seel, some forms of coral that would cure everything in the world even heart desease and cancer.
I can not say that none of these claims have an ounce of truth to them but I will say be careful what you read and what you believe.

Thanks, I kind of figured that......but you have to check everything out, especially when it's a good friend trying to help.......... ;)

Thanks for taking the time to look it up and give me a reply. I will do more research when I find time. I am very busy these days with my new job.

I will have more time on the weekend though.

Paulin,

A couple years back several of my Scleroderma friends were trying the Colostrum for the skin hardening. It didn't help any of them.

Below is an article on what to look for in alternative/complimentary therapies
