I'm not sure what's going on.

In the last 3 hours or so, I have gone from feeling pretty good to feeling cr^ppy. I am very warm, shaky on my feet and tired out, but can't get to sleep. I have a wicked headache.

Have no idea whether this is the beginning of a lupus flare, some sort of virus or just a side effect of the fact I'm pregnant. I often feel kinda worn down late in the day recently but this seems a bit extreme. I am worried because my rheumy told me to watch for symptoms of lupus activity very carefully. He seemed to think I could lose the baby if my symptoms were bad enough. :(

I have called a local after-hours nurse hotline, and they should call me back soon. Anything else y'all would do in my place? Suggestions?

(((((((((((((((songbird))))))))))))) hi sweetie :)

It's possible you have used too many spoons, it can be like that anytime for us even moreso in pregnancy.

However if they dont ring you back soon and you still have that headache I'd be inclined to go to ER just to get them to check you out. Better to be safe.

I hope you feel better soon after a rest :hugbetter:

love
Lily

(((((((( Songbird )))))))))

I hope by this morning that you are feeling better, or at least have been reassured by the on-call nurse. Lily is right, you may have over used your spoons. And remember, during pregnancy, even physically healthy women have far fewer spoons to use. Fatigue is a constant, as are "weird" symptoms -- some of which need to be reported quickly to a doctor and some of which are just ..... normal.

Please keep us posted. And try not to worry too much ( I know how impossible that is ).

Hugs and prayers,
Sunny

Dear Songbird,

Hi - Hoping to hear SOON from you how you are now....

I hope you have been to a doctor? If not, please go as soon as posible ie today.

It could be lupus related, but it could also be preeclampsia. A 'wicked ' headache
is one of the possible symptoms. Others are seeing flashing lights, swelling in your hands, feet and/or arounf the eyes/face, feeling unwell, bad pain in the abdomen near the ribs. It can be very dangerous for baby and mom. As a lupie, you have a higher risk of preeclampsia (also called PET).

Please get it checked out. Hopefully it is nothing serious, but you need to have your blood pressure measured, your urine checked for protein, and the baby's heart beat listened to.

Let us know how you are. I'll be keeping you in mind :hugbetter: :nurse:

I hadn't realized I had not taken my pred in a few days. Took it, and the headache and other symptoms cleared up.

Unfortunately (LOL) that was not the end of my troubles. I started throwing up today and couldn't stop, even water would not stay down. I went to my local hospital where they gave me fluids, a med to help me sleep a bit, and anti-nausea medicine. I am not throwing up anymore; am running a temp of 101, but they gave me tylenol before I left which I hope will kick in soon. I now have the house stocked with tylenol, jello, sprite, etc. Official dx was gastroentiritis; bloods were normal.

Thanks for all your concerns, sorry it took me a while to update.

Songbird, I'm glad something was able to be done about most of it. I'm sorry you're not at 100% though.

Have you had any IV chocolate? That should do it... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/flowers.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/flowers.gif
