My daughter bought bottled iced tea while we were in UK and Europe, and really loves it.

In NZ, iced tea isn't very common, but my daughter wants to make it.

Any ideas ?

cheers

Bring your water to barely a boil and pull it off the heat immediately. Grab several bags of lipton tea (depending on the amount of water) and brew for a few minutes.

Then add tons of sugar :hyper: and some lemon.

Chill in fridge.

Then, voila, iced tea! http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/party/party0047.gif

Texas Sweet Tea -

Place 5-6 regular size tea bags in a 2qt pitcher. Add approx. 3/4- 1c sugar, depending on how sweet you want it. Place either one tea bag of peppermint tea, or about 1 teaspoon of loose peppermint in a tea ball.

Bring water to a rapid boil in a kettle. Fill pitcher about 1/3 of the way with boiling water. Let steep 5minutes. Remove tea bags and mint. Stir to make sure sugar is disolved. Fill pitcher the rest of the way with cold water (it may foam, this is normal).

Pour over ice - try adding lemon, crushed rasberries, or mint leaves for a garnish.

The internet is an amazing thing! It did not even occur to me that some areas of the world would not know how to make ice tea. We drink it with all our meals except breakfast! Who woulda thunk it! :hello:

Raglet,
You can make sun tea to. Get a half gallon glass jar with a lid or whatever size you want. (but it has to be glass) I fill it up with hot water, put the tea bags in (I use 3 tea bags to a half gallon, depending on how strong you like it) Set it outside in the sun and let it brew. When it is nice and dark you have sun tea. Cool in frig.
Take care,
Keebler
