Hi all, I recently was denied benefits. They said that I was too young and that I am totally capable of working. They went down the list that goes: even though you have this, this, this, this, this, this, this, and this we feel you are still capable!!!! Ridicululous!!! It angers me that they don't know anything about Lupus and assume things. Oh yeah I recently was told that i also have Fibro :coffee: (great fun!!). So I got a lawyer and appealed, now more waiting begins. Well my doctor said that he will do anything in his power to help. well thanx for listening.!!!! :D

Bubblez,

If it makes you feel any better they deny 66% of all aplications for ssdi, and I am not sure on ssi. The fibromyalgia dx will make it easier to get approved. SLE with organ involvment is also on the qualifying list.

Read back thru the posts on this forum that will help you deal with this and give you information that may help your lawyer.

If you need money to live on there are many sources available. There is a post pinned at the top of living with lupus of agencies that can help you.

Take care,
Karen

Hi Bubblez,

:welcome: to our site. Don't feel bad, we've all been on the ssdi merry-go-round. I've been through 2 denials and awaiting a date for a hearing which my attorney requested. I have 2 doctors saying I am unable to work, but ss still hasn't even bothered to send me for a medical evaluation yet. Keep your head up, this is a very lengthy process, don't take it personal, to SSDI you're just paperwork not a real human being with problems.

Hugs,

Michelle :flowers:
