Hi Sweety

I'm sorry your mom is so unwell, and you are frightened. Some of the things you read on the
internet are old articles, so please don't believe everything you read. Most people with lupus
live very normal lives, and with all the medications now days Lupus is not as scary as it used
to be. Allot of us work, have families and enjoy life like everyone else, we are just a bit less
active than we used to be. There will be lots of people here who will help you through this
frightening time, and help you to understand Lupus. Maybe you could tell your mom you have
read some things about Lupus that really scare you, and she can talk to you about it, I think
your mom didn't want to tell you too much, because she loves you and doesn't want you to be
frightened. I hope your mom feels better soon and it is nice to meet you.

Hugs Jude style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hugbetter.gif

Hi there.

I agree with Jude, ask your Mom, I am sure that she will help you. I also am a mom and I have not gone into detail about Lupus either and reading your post, I can tell you this. Mom's never ever want their children to worry or to be scared. It just may be very hard to talk to you about it as this is my case. I am scared to talk to my children about it because I was always their rock, protector, guider, etc. and I didn't want that to change. I want them to live their childhood normal and not be walking on eggshells. This is the reason I have not got into it with them and maybe your moms? We just always try to protect our children from any harm or anything that may hurt. Reading your post, I think I need to speak to my children as I would never want them feeling that way, afraid and worried. You have been my inspiration my dear, and I am sure that if you speak to your mom, she will talk to you and you will feel better about things. Please watch what you read on the internet as some of it will be false and not accurate or updated.

Good luck and please write back.
