310g (10 oz) self raising flour sifted
220g (7 1/2 oz) blue cheese crumbled
1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives
1 teaspoon paprika
155g (5 oz) walnuts, chopped
1 cup (250ml) (8 fl oz) buttermilk or milk
1 tablespoon walnut or vegetable oil
60g (2 oz) parmesan grated
Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F) In a large bowl, combine flour, blue cheese, chives, paprika and 125g (4 oz) walnuts.
Make a well in the centre of the flour mixture, add milk and oil and mix to form a soft dough.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Roll into a large ball, flatten slightly and place on a lightly greased baking tray. Sprinle with parmesan and remaining walnuts. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden and risen.
