I was wondering if there was anyone on this forum who would like an email pal? I do not have any support in my area, and I could use a few lupus pals. Someone to talk to that understands. I don't just want a friend to complain to, but to have fun with too.

I was thinking of writing to some woman...i came accross her website...she has lupus and she has pictures there, which demonstrate interesting and fulfilling life despite of lupus. I am now very concerned about how to live close to normal life, how to learn that, and what to allow myself. So i thought i would ask her that,
but i am too shy to write to her.

I would be happy to be your pal...may be it is a little bit selfish right now...i would probably complain at the moment, because i have a new developments, and i am not sure how to handle them, how not to feel trapped.
So considering my present state...otherwise i could be fun to talk to(the only thing is that english is not my first language, which you might have figured out already), if you still would be interested to write to me, please let me know how to send you my email address.

I joined the message board yesterday and already your postings have helped me to not feel so alone. I was diagnosed last August ( I'm 51). I have had Lupus for the last 12-15 years, you know how hard it is to get the official diagnosis. Now I'm told my Lupus is severe. I have made lifestyle changes d ecreased my work shifts and a nurse, giving in to the needed rest breaks when possible, and yes, faithfully taking all those wonderful medications that change our looks and attitudes. I'm still having issues with the fact that had I been diagnosed earlier, maybe the treatment would have helped more. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, overall I do very well. Sharri

Hi Sharri, sorry to hear that your lupus is severe. That is not the news you want to hear.

Many of us here do understand the sacrifice it is to have to make those lifestyle changes. I do understand your frustration at not being diagnosed earlier. It took 15 years to get the official diagnosis for me.
