style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif wondered if anyone can give me any advice...my wcc has been between 1.0 and 2.2 up and down for past 4 months. been tcc now for approx this time and wondered if the fact that my immune system is so low if it is reducing my chances of implantation. I would imagine it would have.

I am on ezothyprine (wrong spelling) 75mg which has just been reduced from 150mg due to my wcc. I am also on prednisilone 10mg, plaquinel and voltarol. get b12 injections and have been off methotrexate now for 9 months.

sounds a bit of a mouthful but i have been attending pre preg prof for advice re med but my cell count is something i have just been thinking about the last day or two.

sorry for so much chat on one message....

thanks style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cloud9.gif

Hi nick and welcome style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Is it Azathioprine you are on (i.e. Imuran)? Because that can lower your white cell count in some cases? I'm not clued up on TCC much only what I just read by doing a quick search?

I dont know anything about your current situation but I can tell you that if you are on Aza then most docs would NOT want you falling pregnant whilst on it.

Its generally agreed that Lupus should be stable as possible when trying to fall pregnant, taking cortisone and even Plaquenil is generally considered ok - most people here see a high risk ob-gyn in conjunction with their Rheumy to keep a close eye on things - maybe you are already doing that?

thanks lily for your response. it is azathioprine I am on and have been attending a specialist gyn since march last year. I have came off methotrexate 25mg in preparation and had to be off that for 6 months before hand.

azathioprine is the medication i have been put on and agreed by boh gyn and my consultant. i have read up on it ....maybe too much and I have read a lot of conflicting info however I have taken my final advice from my speciaist and when I have investigated the internet the most recent info re the medication is alot more positive during pregnancy than before.

unlike methotrexate which is a total no no. with azathiprine being an immune supresant i am aware this reduces my wcc and has done quite considerably...and I was just wondering if anyone had issues ttc with a low immune system asa result of your body not coping with the change.

not really found any def info on internet but will keep trying and it is on my list to ask my consultant whn i see him next.

thanks for your advice.
