I was granted permanent disability Jan of 05. I found out somewhere along they way that I was classified as expected to recover with in 1 year. I was granted permanent disability based on SLE, sjorgens and depresssion.

I received notice that my case is being reviewed to see if I am still disabled. They want a ton of info ex) doctors, appointment dates, drugs I am on etc.

I called as instructed and they are sending forms to fill out. From what I understood it was like starting from the beginning except they only want info from Jan of 05.

I feel that I am still permanently disabled.

Has anybody been through this process before?

If so what was the out come.

Was told it could take up to 4 months to receive a letter stating that I am or am not disabled. If it says not disabled I can appeal.

Freaking out because I am in the middle of changing doctors plus you never know what social security will do.

It is back to nail biting time.

Please responed so I know what I am in for.

Thanks Elaine

Elaine,

I haven't had to deal with a review yet but I understand it is not likely to be denied unless evidence of major improvement shows other wise. Very few people are on ssdi forever without reviews. The timeline is 1yr or 3yrs or 7yrs I think. The key of course is to make sure you have copies of all recent medical records to make their job easier.

Hi all

Still in CDR review paper work ****. I would advise anyone that has been approved to keep all records up to date and at your fingure tips. I had to get an extendios for 2 reason. Even though the office is only 35 mons from my house it took over 6 days for me to get the paper work from them. Also, have a hard time getting info from docs plus there are just so many of them.

HI Dudley,

I am not up for a review till 2010. They don't think I will get better so I got 7 years till review. My hubby gets reviewed every 3 years for his mental problems. He goes to doctor every 3 months so he has lots of medical proof that he is still sick. He is always approved again. Have you been going to doctor and still taking meds??????? Get your doc to write and say that you are still unable to work and still under her care and has not improved in the last 3 years to be considered "cured"

GOOD LUCK,
