I guess I dont understand, people keep talking about forms they had to fill out. What forms??? I applied for ssi/ssd 5 months ago and did this over the phone with a 1 1/2 hour interview. I never had to fill out forms. I was sent info regarding ssi for income verification but that was it. Still have not heard a thing from them. Was there some forms I was suppose to fill out yet didnt receive? My interviewer back in august said it would take 4-6 months to hear. What should I do?? I have called to find out whats going on and how long it will take to find out and the response was it could take up to 9 months. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif

Hey,

If you did the phone interview over the phone..They probably filled out the forms that you would have. BUT!!!You should have got a response by now. It usually takes 4 months to get approved or denied and then you will fill out more forms. Unless they haven't got a LOT SLOWER, you should have gotten something by now!!! Go back and read other articles under this forum. Read my article at top of the forum about applying.

GOOD LUCK style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/foryou.gif

Pearls,

Pickles is right about the forms. I would call all your doctors and make sure they have responded to the requests from social security. My approval took 9 months partly because of my doctors slow response to their request for records. Social Security does pay the doctors for copying the records but I am not sure how much that is.

I had additional forms mailed to me about 3 weeks after my initial application wanting expanded information on each job I had held in the previous 15 years I think. Then because my disability is mostly driven by pain they wanted a functional ability form or something like that from my rheumy. He was slow on getting that back in so that also slowed down my approval.

I did mine by paper. but I agree that you should have heard something. I also agree that I would call some of the major doctors involved and see if your records were requested.

If they were not I would call your contact.

If they were I would still call contact and ask if there was anything that you could do to help elevate them of some of the leg work. i would not use those words but something to the sort. This at least puts you into can tack with this person with out being pushy. Make nice and see were your case is.

Good luck Elaine
