Hey there everyone!!! I have been breaking my brain style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hissy1.gif researching to see if I can find out if there is a medicine or any type of food, that can increase my platelet count. Any suggestions?? I know about Rituxan, but my Dr. is still waiting on more testing.

Hope to hear from someone style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Thanx.gif

Hi

I have ITP ( low platelets ) all the time. It depends on what is causeing the low platelets, it could be some meds or asprin ect. If it is chronic like mine caused by the Lupus, I have been treated with prednisone, Win Rho, IVIG, gamma gobulin, and now Rituxan, I eat a well balanced diet and take multi vitamins and Iron Feosol. Right now nothing seems to be keeping the platelets up. I now have an appointment with a surgeon for a spleenectomy. Because they are still below 50,000 even with the Rituxan treatments.

But first check with your Dr about all your meds and any over the counter meds too, if they are bad for the platelets you may need to make some adjustments.

Hope you feel beter soon

Thanks! I am just looking to somehow make things better with my Lupus. I am truly running out of options. This issue with the low platelets is just so disappointing. It has been going on for quite sometime know. If you here of anything to increase platelets, let me know, I will do the same.

Again, thanks for caring.

Looking forward to the day a cure is found for Lupus. Thanks for all the emotional support. Couldn't do it with out all of you at this site.

Blessings To All!!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/highfive.gif
