Lucy Si?n has arrived

Hi All, I just thought I would share with you all the fantastic news that I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on 20th January, Lucy Si?n was born 2 weeks early and weighed 6lb 10 1/2 oz. She is absolutly gorgeus and is so content and sleeps well..

I was diagnosed with SLE in march 2000, got married feb 2003 and then came off all meds(methotrextae, plaquenil) so that we could start trying for a baby(had to wait 6 months) it took just over 2 years to conceive.. I was taking Morphne for my pain but had to come off that too, and managed my pregnancy with "normal"painkillers I guess I as one of the lucky ones as Pregnancy seemed to suit me, I had the odd bad day but otherwise no major problems, except developing gestational diabetes...

Lucy is now 2 weeks old and I am coping well, would like more sleep but who wouldn't..

I just wanted to let everyone who reads this board that there is hope, and having Lpus does not mean that you can't have children as I had 1st read when I was diagnosed.. I was monitored closely during pregnancy and Thnakfully all has been well and I now have this beautiful baby in my arms. something that I thought would never happen..

i hope you and baby are doing well?? please dont over do it looking after Lucy, she needs her mummy but sure she needs a healthy mummy!! take care of yourself and make sure you have 'me time' to recharge your batteries because babies are hard work!!!! use all the support you can get and i wish you the best of luck.
