Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a great Rheumotologist in San Diego, CA? Is there a San Diego chapter Lupus support group?
Thanks,

Michele,
I know that there is at least one lupus specialist at Scripps in La Jolla. Do a search thru this forum with the key words san diego and you might get the names of the doctors.
Take care,
Karen

Thanks Karen,
Not only did I find a doc recommendation in the search, but also a support group that was mentioned.
Thanks!

Michele,
I see a great lupus doctor at Scripps La Jolla in San Diego. His name is Dr. Robert Fox and he is excellent. When he is not attending to patients, he spends alot of his time on the research end of lupus. I'm not sure if he is taking new patients, but I do know that there are two other rheumatologists in the same building, although I don't know much about them. If you can get in, I'm sure you would like him - he really listens, is very thorough and spends as much time with you as needed.
Hope this information helps...

Hi Everyone. When I tried to call into Dr. Fox's office they said he's no longer taking new patients. And it does appear good Rheum Dr.'s are hard to find especially in the greater San Diego area.
Does anyone else have a good Rheum Dr. they'd recommend in the San Diego area?
Thanks!
Ami

Ami,
Did you ask if any other doctors in the rheumatology clinic are taking new patients? You can go to the scripps site and get the names of the rheumatologists, then google them to see which ones are lupus specialists and call to see if you can get appointments with them.
You might also want to do a search of this forum with the key words san diego and see what else comes up.
I live north of Los Angeles and drive into LA to see Dr. Daniel Wallace - he would be a longer drive for you than he is for me but he is a top lupus doctor.
Take care,
karen

Thanks Karen for your post! I've got Dr. Wallace on my list next. (It's just such a long drive). But, I loved his books that he's written. I did find a Rheum Dr. locally that was recommended by a few patients that are part of the Lupus Foundation. So hopefully... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
