I am a 17 y/o female, senior in high school right now. I love reading, writing, and drawing. I was diagnosed two years ago and since then have been doing pretty well...I am taking pills every day but at least I only have to see my doctors once every 3/4 months instead of once a month like it used to be. I had cytoxan for 6 months when I was first diagnosed and had a horrible experience with hair loss, weight gain, and a lot more that really hurts a young girl's vision of the world. I'd like to meet someone like me, or someone I can relate to and discuss matters in my life with, especially matters having to deal with the stage and age of life I am at right now, for instance, social problems, boyfriends, prom, high school stuff, college stuff, etc. Or just PM me if you feel lonely. I too was diagnosed with Lupus in the late summer of 2004. I am only 13, turning 14 in May, but I was also hit with the stress of weight gain, rash , and joint pain. I may not be as old as you or in highschool, but if you would like to chat sometime just send a reply and we can talk.

Hey Happy Artist,
My name is Katrina and I'll be 17 in like less than a month. I was diagnosed december 2003. I had to go through 8 months of cytoxen so I know all the joys of that. My hair had thinned soo much from it back its come in pretty good now and now i have wavy hair and its a but different colour lol so thats kinda cool. I gained a bunch of weight from prednisone...but have managed to lose it all with lots of hardwork. I actually had to stop going to school halfway through grade 9 because i was missing so much because i was so sick. So i started home schooling. This is my first year back but i'm only there for one class..its sorta nice though to see everyone again even though we don't have alot in common anymore. I too also take a bunch of pills everyday..but lupus is doing pretty good (fingers crossed). So if you wanna write me back just pm me or whatever. I really do understand what its like to deal with all this stuff.

i'm 21 now and i got my diagnose when i was 12. just like u all i had to deal with my body changes, with adverse effects of all those pills we take, with friends reactions, boyfriends... etc. if i can help you in anyway please feel more than free to write me something!! the best advice is from someone who's been through the same and understands u the best.

happyartist, belive me when i say that having to live with a cronic desease is a very special thing 'cause it teaches u how to leave life to the fullest style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ok.gif
