I just got the call yesterday that my long 3 year wait was coming to an end, after being denied twice, I decided to hire a company to represent me and we had to do the whole thing all over agian, denied 3 times, hearing phase.

got the call yesterday that finally I have a hearing date scheduled for april 20th. the judge is actually coming here instead of me having to travel to him, the rep from the company will be here as well. what I do know is that about a week before the hearing the case worker will call me for an interview going over all records meds, conditions etc. but what I want to know is, has anyone gone through an in-person hearing and what can I expect? does the case worker do all the talking? or am I allowed to say something on my behalf? can I have members ofmy family who have to live with me and see me at my worst say things on my behalf? what will happen in there?

anyone?

looked through the search function, found nothing, nerves are on fire here and getting very anxious and want to make sure all my ducks are in a row, I really don't want to screw this up. I know I got annoying in a previous post so I was trying not to be in this one, but please, doesn't someone know anything? or have any advice to give on when appearing before a judge?

Sorry can't help you there, haven't even gotten close to that point yet. I just applied not that long ago for the first time. Wish you the best of luck though.

Sweet t,

Do a search in this forum for posts with either Pickles or Bananawear. Neither of them are able to post as often as they used to but both had insights into the system that I simply don't have. Maybe that will help.
You can at this point ask your lawyers to request an OTR where the judge goes over your papers and makes a decision without the hearing.

Let us know how it goes.

Take care,
Karen

thanks karen, I'll look up the search, unfortunately, the OTR is out of the question, the judge has already looked over the papers and has requested the in person hearing, the company representing me says they have a 93% success rate at this stage, but, I tend to get a tad anxious (gee can you tell? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rotfl.gif ) and I just like to know what to expect before I go into situations.
