Hi All

For about 3 weeks now I have been suffering really bad bouts of feeling sick and headaches, on top of this I now seem to have developed a need to go for a toilet break really frequently and get kidney pains if I don't go however, I don't get pain upon passing. I've also developed a craving for salt in the past week or so.

I'm already on Plaq and meds for hypertension, as well as nsaids etc., all of which I have been taking for the last six months with no previous side effects. I've got an appointment to see my GP next Monday so I intend to raise it then if I have time but I wondered whether anyone else has suffered anything similar?? The fatigue has also been gradually getting worse too..

Can anyone shed some light on this as it's really starting to knock me about a bit??

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

Does ur BP med have a diuretic in it?

Good idea to see the doc.

I agree with the others that a doc visit is in order. It would be a good idea to get a PEP (partial electrolyte panel) blood test at the visit to find out if your levels of body salts are out of balance. As Lily said, a diuretic or water pill could affect that balance.

Wishing you well,

I agree, too, that a doc visit and discussion is in order. I'm also remembering that craving for salt is a symptom for some endocrinologic difficulties (as is the constant need to urinate). You might want to ask your GP about the possibility of seeing an endocrinologist while you're trying to figure this all out.

Good luck, and let us know!

If you do manage to find out what is the cause please let us know because I have very similar symptoms. Also, have you noticed that your urine smells stronger than usual at all?
