Need a Dr in MN

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/umm.gif I need to find a good Dr that I can trust and that will tell me everything. Someone that will listen to me and doesn't act like it's no big deal that I have lupus. The Dr I was seeing acted like he had no time with me. Every time I would see him he would just look at my face and tell me I look good and that if I'd lose some weight it would help the pain in my joints. He failed to remember that being on steroids for almost a year didn't help matters. The only medication that I am on is hydroxychloroquine 200mg 3 times a day.
So now I am at a loss. As the sores get worse on top of my head and the hair disappearing and there r days I can not hold the phone to my ears because they have sores also. Sometimes it feels like they r getting ripped off. I don't feel good going back to my old one. Can some one please help.? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Thanx.gif

What part of Minnesota are you from?
You could google the mayo clinic and see what you can find or the Cities should have some good rhuemys.
Minnesota is a big state.

I can't help you with a Rhuemy, but I was curious why you are taking 200mg of hydroxychloroquine 3 times a day and for how long? The normal dosage is 400 but I have heard some who have been on 600mg. I ask because my doctor told me that Plaq. has a half life of 5 weeks. That means that if you stopped taking it today, it would take 5 weeks to get down to 50% strength in your system. I take both of mine in the morning.

I hope you can find a good Rhuemy soon, you need to get some treatment going as soon as you can if it's that bad. I know how you feel, I've had that before too. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif

You really need to let us know whataprt of minnesota you are in right now for us to help you wiht a doctor. But like keebler said youca n try mayo clinic.Kf you are anywher near there at all it is am awesome clinic i think anyway.You can go online also and loook up the city you are in and find something also. Let us know we can help you more if we know the city you are in okay. good luck with your search.Keep posting.
