As far as I know it's not recommended unless the lupus is in remission or stable enough in the opinion of their treating physician, and the person is on anti malarials - that's for skin laser therapy anyway.

The risk is of worsening the existing lupus or starting something new . If you had laser hair removal you might end up with lupus skin problems

It must only be administered by a highly proficient doctor experienced with laser therapy for lupus patients, not any old doctor.

Take care
Clare

I think lupus is a contraindication for this sort of treatment.

Hi,

I don't think laser treatment is recommended, it may cause bruising for lupus patients, especially if your lupus is active.

My doctor recommended electrolysis treatments to me when I asked, but I think it depends on you and your lupus. Ask your doctor he/she may know what will work best for you.

Take Care,

Amy

Hey,
I, too, was considering laser treatment until all the great advice from this site. I'm really glad there is a place I can go to get suggestions, opinions or just plain support. Thanks to everyone.
