The representative for the company helping me get SSDI called me today. He asked if I received my letter yet. Apparently the SSA told him they were finding my case fully favorable!!! It's an on-the-record decision, I believe.

This decision was made without the last doctor's letter, too--the one that was such a shocker.

I really didn't believe the call until I saw Rene's post where the same thing happened to her.

Please cross your fingers it's true!! Believe you me, I will be waiting at the mailbox every day until I see the letter.

Sue,

Thats a big relief off your shoulders now. Don't expect the letter to show up for a few weeks. I found out by a phone call also and actually received my back pay check before the letter. Have you arranged for auto-deposit? if not call your soc sec contact in the local office and he/she will have you come in and take care of it.

Thank you all!

I don't know how this is going to work out, whether the SSDI will be paid to my LTD co. or the LTD co. will just reduce the amount they send to me. All back pay goes to the LTD co, too. But I'm not complaining. I'm getting more than with just SSDI alone.

Now I'll be able to keep the COBRA until Medicare kicks in, and that has been a really big worry for me. Otherwise the COBRA went away this coming Oct.

It's nice to know, Karen, that the letter might take a few weeks. Yesterday I decided to walk down to the mailbox (about 1/2 mile round trip) and I barely dragged myself home. I was wobbling like a drunk most of the way back. So maybe I'll go every second or third day.

Teri, would tea work? Or I can have tea and send you coffee over the phone line? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/coffee.gif Coffee doesn't sit well in my tummy right now. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/flowers.gif

Congradulations!! Yes,this did happen to me! My lawyer called me and told me I was approved by the judge as soon as he reviewed my file! THANK GOD!!! It took a couple of weeks to recieve my letter of approval. It may have been even longer but I definately found out I was approved before my letter arrived! But you can call the SSDI office in a few days or if you have a local one in your area,go there in person and they can tell you exactly how much your pay will be and your back pay will be. But they first have to receive the approval from the judge. Otherwise they can give an estimate, but with the letter or phone call from the judges office they can give you an exact amount. At least that is what they did in my case. This way you can plan ahead alittle bit. I was so thankful to be approved!!!! And so thankful I didn't have to go to court!!! But I wish I could have won without an attorney.(becaues of the money) The SSDI office had the same records/file that the judge had and they turned me down twice! The judge approved me!! Isn't that something!! Anyways there is no use crying over spilled milk. We could have really used that money for bills. But hey, I am THANKFUL ANYWAYS!!!!!! I am so happy for you and thankful that you didn't have to go to court!! GOD BLESS!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jump.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jump.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
