[font=Garamond] Hey everyone my names Nicole I am 16, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have lupoid hepatitus (aka. autoimmune hepatitus) which appearntly falls under the same category as lupus so my doctor told me to check this site out. I have been unable to go to school for going on three months now, also back in November of 2005 I had to take a medical-relief from my circus school style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif I am starting medications today finally ive been in a fair bit of pain for months now kind of nice knowing their finally getting somewhere with this. In January i suffered a terrible flare-up. (My doctors thought i simply had tendonitus so they were treating me for that with this electric-shock-ice machine which caused seriously horrible pain the day after... and i was unable to really get out of bed for the next week... couldn't walk properly for over a month.) I am sure most of you prolly know the drill, this disease is painful. My cousin suffers from this as well.. they said it could not be genetic but I am still wondering if it can be. Well I kind of just would like to talk about this with some people who get what this is like... also what to expect with this. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif Well its late I should go but please If you want to talk on msn messenger then lemme know via e-mail. I am a very artsy type of person so I supose in that way I am kinda unique but I am very good to talk with and I would love to talk with you guys on how your cooping with this all. (Maybe you can give me some advice ^^ or vise-versa) Byes From Nix

Hey Nicole - I'm glad your doctor suggested you visit this site - s/he sounds they will take really good care of you!

I'm Lisa from Alberta, and I've had SLE since I was 14. I'm 34, so I'm practically ancient now. There are lots of us artsy types around - I sing in an orchestra chorus, (I used to dance before I got too old... lol...)and there are a few dancers around as well, so hopefully we'll have lots in common! I had a cousin that did circus school in Montreal - I always thought that sounded really fun...

I don't know much (ok, I don't know anything) about your condition, but treatments for lupus are way better than they used to be, so I hope it's the same for you.

Hugs hon - it gets better!

Lisa
