Hi Deb,
The letter from your doctor should help the case. The stronger the language the more it helps. Good luck with the appeal.

Take care,
Lazylegs

I already had one doctor do it for my rt knee surgery and he said it is helping but needs it from one more doctor is so frustrating....

Hi best of luck. the letter that they doc should write for you should not be just she can't work because she has lupus. It must specifiy why you can't work ie--can't pick up more than 5 lbs. get stand for mor than 15 mins etc. there is a copy of this type of letter somewhere on site. If you can't find it PM me and I will dig it up

GOOD LUCK Deb,

YES, by all means get your doctor to write a letter and tell them exactly what is wrong and WHY you cannot do any kind of work whatsoever.. There is a form that they can do..its called FCE or RCE..Its a Functional Capacity Evaluation, they can get you to do some things like sit, stoop, squat, bend, lift, reach, walk, etc.
It tells them how long you can do certain things without pain or if you need to rest between walking or if you can't climb stairs without stopping or if you cannot bend or lift, etc. It will help. Ask your rheumy about it.

Elaine is right, They just can't say "Deb is disabled and she can't work" they need to point out exactly why you can't if its because you're tired all the time and need to rest during the day or if you can't walk more than 5 minutes without resting or whether you can't lift more than 5 pounds..anything to tell them WHY you can't do the least little job.

GOOD LUCK.
